Below is a general rule on how the middle name being present and its format impacts the result of a check.

Passports in AU	Passport matching is pretty strict when it comes to name matching. It requires the name exactly as it’s on the passport, so if there’s a middle name collect it from the applicant
AU Medicare card	Middle names on medicare cards are tricky, to say the least. The details need to be provided as exactly as it’s on the medicare card taking into account whether the middle name on it’s an initial, the full middle name, or no middle name at all.
